What a night! First, before I go into that I have to tell you how crazy work was yesterday. The head chef made me one of the specials (Chicken Supreme stuffed with apricots and cranberries and topped with a cumberland sauce and served with potato dauphinois) since I've been selling so much of them. The day was nice so we were kind of busy outside and I took my food break just before the place got packed! We only had David (manager), Rashan and me working. Luckily Paul (who's still waiting for his visa) came and helped out in the bar. We also had Emily (the other American girl), but it was her last day and she is completely worthless as a waitress. Every table inside and out was filled and people just wouldn't leave and they kept coming in all up until 10! It was insane how busy it was and how short-staffed we were. I honestly can't believe we made it. I spilled an entire glass of Pinot Gris all over me so I smelled like wine the rest of the night. Dave bought me a beer before I left after 10 so that was good.
I rushed back to the hostel because they were waiting for me to light the candles and bring out the cake for Taka. He was totally "pissed" (drunk in Kiwi and English terms) by the time I got back, and was drinking sake out of a mug. There was a big group of us and someone took pictures so hopefully I'll be able to get them up on this. We all hung around for awhile and made Taka give a speech and then we made him get ready because we were all going out. Ha, it was a hilarious night and I have no idea how he made it so late! He went home probably around 3 after lots of dancing and bar hopping. Most went home a little after 1, and the group of 5 or 6 of us left kept going until 4. We had a great time!
So today I work at 4 and then a split shift tomorrow. I'm definitely going to be ready for a couple days off after this week of so much work and one long night out. I hope everyone's doing well!
